If you’re looking to replace your current running shoes and are searching for a shoe that offers a soft feel and the support you need on the road, look no further than the recently released On Cloudrunner.
As you might gather from its name, this shoe was made for running. Aside from featuring On’s characteristic CloudTec® cushioning in ultralight zero-gravity foam, the shoe’s green credentials will also be highly impressive to the eco-conscious athletes among us.
In line with On’s undertaking to make their manufacturing process more environmentally friendly, the On Cloudrunner was made with over 90% recycled polyester – that breaks down to between 30% and 35% total recycled content, with the vamp, heel and tongue, collar lining and laces all made from 100% recycled polyester.
The cradle-shaped construction and wider bottom unit offer extra support while running, and the engineered mesh upper is both breathable and supportive.
On’s Head of Footwear Product Management, Edouard Coyon, describes the On Cloudrunner as a comfortable and supportive shoe, which builds on the reputation that this Swiss manufacturer has established over the years.
“To make the Cloudrunner more supportive, we have increased the width of the bottom unit in the forefoot and the heel area, so you land and push off on a wider platform. We sculpted the inside of the bottom unit, so your foot sits inside a cradle, instead of sitting on top of it. The upper nicely wraps around your foot so it is fully supported. We tuned the geometry of the clouds – smaller clouds on the medial side than on lateral – to support the foot’s movement from heel to toe,” says Coyon.
