Cloudstratus (M)
R3,299
The performance shoe for maximum cushioning.
Ready to double your run? Introducing the Cloudstratus and its unique dual Cloudtec® system. Swiss-engineered for runners that demand more: more clouds, more cushioning, more run. The second you kick into the run, the dual sequential cushioning system kicks in. First, the lower layer of Clouds cushions every foot strike, collapsing ready to rebound forwards. Then, the second layer joins to absorb residual impact and add even more propulsion. Which means you’ll want to go twice as far. The Cloudstratus. It’s running on
clouds taken to a new level. Literally.

I am a Cloudflow guy, but needed a shoe to help on those 100km weeks in prep for Comrades. I bought the Stratus based on right ups about its ability to take you further. On first impression the shoe is big in stature and dwarfed my Flows. They are also a wopping 100g per shoe heavier than my Flows. That said, once you put them on, the fit is super comfortable and the toebox is nice and roomy. You are not going to break landspeed records with these as they are in my opinion slower than my Flows, but they are super comfortable and ideal for the long Tempo runs. I have done a 100 miles with them in my first two weeks and have experienced no serious drawbacks. The heel drop of 8mm is well disguised in this shoe and is not as noticeable when coming off the 6mm in the Flow. In comparison, the same drop in the New Balance 1080v10, is immediately noticed when running. Wear and tear is reasonable at this stage and I reckon it will see through the 800km I limit my shoes to.
