Absa Cape Epic offers off-road glory to those with grit

After eight years the Absa Cape Epic returns to Lourensford Wine Estate, before traversing the Hottentots Holland Mountains to Elandskloof. This world’s toughest cross-country mountain biking race classed as hors catégorie by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) will be taking place from 20 to 27 March this year.

Route directors scout for new singletrack year after year, vowing never to repeat a complete Cape Epic route and this year’s route may be the most challenging in the race’s 19-year history. that is 657km long and sees 17250m of climbing.

The Absa Cape Epic is a full-service race, meaning that everything is taken care of from the start – all riders need to think about is riding. It attracts more than 1 300 riders who make up the participating two-member teams with aspiring amateur riders eager to test themselves against the best.

Tifosi Sports and On is excited to have a number of ambassadors and friends of the brand associated with On take part in the Absa Cape Epic this year. We wish the following riders the very best of luck as they tick off this bucket list item for off-road cyclists.
