Team Qhubeka ASSOS
If you’re a cycling fan, you will definitely have cheered at some of Team Qhubeka ASSOS’s victories over the years. With no less than seven Tour De France stage wins under their belt, this UCI WorldTeam cycling team doesn’t only race to win, but also to raise awareness for Qhubeka, the non-profit organisation the team takes its name from.
This effort has led to the distribution of more than 30 000 bicycles to South African school-going learners, and has also given 55 riders from the African continent the opportunity to compete at the highest level in this sporting code.
Operating from the philosophy that #bicycleschangelives, Team Qhubeka ASSOS’s work with this charity serves as motivation before every race. The hands on the back of the team’s cycling jerseys remind them that every Qhubeka bicycle serves as a helping hand to the beneficiary receiving it, driving them towards their own goals more quickly.
Team Qhubeka ASSOS is made up of 37 riders from 19 different countries, and the team has certainly made an impact since bursting onto the cycling scene in 2007.
