The Cloudultra is On’s best trail running shoe yetThe Social Media Company
The latest addition to the On stable promises superior comfort for trail runners, no matter how long they’re planning to run. Modelled after the Cloudstratus and following in the footsteps of On’s first trail running shoe, the On Cloudventure, the Cloudultra takes the best of these other models, perfecting On’s trail running offering.
The Cloudultra has been designed with long runs in mind, and to this end, connected CloudTec® elements and a closed outsole provides comfort on every type of running surface, and especially on terrain that is rocky or gravelly. Missiongrip™ on the outsole helps to prevent slippage and provides greater traction than ever before, while the solid high-grip rubber sole is fused over On’s signature Helion™ superfoam. This makes for trail running that is exceptionally comfortable – even more so if you’re planning to take longer routes.
On’s inner sock lining again makes an appearance in the Cloudultra, but this shoe also introduces an innovative system that long-distance trail runners will quickly fall in love with. Dubbed FlipRelease™, this tool, which forms a part of the Cloudultra’s lacing system, can be used to release pressure when the feet become swollen, or adjusted to make for a tighter fit on uphills. This means that trail runners can save time by not having to stop, bend down, and adjust their laces along the route.
If that alone doesn’t assure you of the Cloudultra’s performance, you’ll be delighted to learn that the Speedboard that is used in the Cloudultra was inspired by the Cloudventure’s Speedboard. Characteristically On, this part of each shoe’s design is what guarantees explosive push-offs and soft landings, while also supporting the natural rolling motion of the foot.
The sandwich mesh upper is breathable to help keep the feet cool and dry, and the new look is edgy and will speak to those that want to race in style.
The On Cloudultra is the quintessential trail running shoe, and is exactly what trail running aficionados will be looking for to complement longer runs and races.
